Pot magnets - cup magnets with super-strong adhesive force
Strong, compact and versatile.
Those are the quality features of our neodymium pot magnets.
They are suitable as cup magnets, magnet base, for outdoor mounting and many other applications.
We offer many different types - from a countersunk pot magnet to a threaded magnet base, from magnet systems with rubber coating to cup magnets with ferrite magnets.
In addition, you can order from supermagnete rectangular and square neodymium or ferrite channel magnets in various versions, allowing you to select the products that best fit your needs.
Please note: The full adhesive force of a pot magnet is achieved if the ferromagnetic counterpart is smooth, sufficiently thick and in direct and flush contact with the pot magnet.

What are the distinguishing features of pot magnets? When are pot magnets used? We will show you what makes neodymium pot magnets so unique:
Superpowers thanks to neodymium magnets
Most pot magnets in our assortment contain a neodymium magnet. Thanks to the neodymium-iron-boron alloy, cup pot magnets possess magnetic superpowers and already achieve a high adhesive force, even at a small size or with a flat design.
Concentrated magnetic force
Since the magnets are embedded in the steel pot, their forces are concentrated on the holding surface when direct contact is made. This results in a particularly high magnetic adhesive force. In our supermagnete assortment, you will find pot magnets with adhesive forces ranging from 1,3 to 130 kg.
Various sizes and shapes
In the supermagnete online shop, you will find pot magnets in many different sizes and shapes. Most pot magnets are round, but there are also rectangular and square cup magnets. In addition, you can also find various designs with different hole and thread sizes in our assortment.
A wide range of accessories
Combine pot magnets with eyelets or hooks and find the perfect accessories for any application. Pot magnets offer a strong, secure mounting solution while remaining discreet thanks to their flat shape. What are the features of pot magnets? The ins and outs of a pot magnet
1 A mounting option for various applications
We offer pot magnets with various fastening options for accessories. Neodymium pot magnets with countersunk holes or cylindrical holes can be easily screwed on. You can add various accessories to pot magnets with screw sockets, threaded studs or internal threads. Combine these pot magnets with eyelets, hooks or handles. This makes pot magnets ideal for hanging tools, protective curtains, escape route and information signs, among other things. Practical ideas for private use can be found in our customer projects or linked to the respective product.2 Sturdy steel pot for concentrated adhesive force
In pot magnets, the neodymium magnet is embedded in a steel pot or steel channel. The steel pot increases the magnet’s adhesive force when in direct contact with a thick iron surface. However, pot magnets can scratch surfaces if moved. To protect delicate surfaces, our assortment includes rubber caps and self-adhesive rubber discs that can be attached to the pot magnets. In addition to preventing scratches, the rubber offers another advantage: it increases the load capacity of the magnets in the shear direction, because the rubber enhances friction.3 Neodymium magnet for a strong hold
Strong neodymium disc magnets are embedded in the neodymium pot magnets. These can rust and are therefore designed for dry indoor use. If you need rustproof pot magnets, ferrite pot magnets are a suitable choice. The embedded magnet can reach its full adhesive force when the ferromagnetic counterpart is smooth, flat and sufficiently thick. In addition, the pot magnet must rest directly on the surface and make full flush contact. Pot magnets already lose much of their adhesive force at a distance of only half a millimetre from the ferromagnetic surface. For more information, please see our FAQ on pot magnet features.Discover suitable pot magnets with the magnet finder
The magnet finder helps you find pot magnets with specific characteristics. Conveniently, the magnet finder page lists all pot magnets from the supermagnete assortment. Various filter options are available so you can narrow down the large selection of magnets. Filter by desired adhesive force, size, design, magnetisation, colour and many other options. You will find the right pot magnets with just a few clicks.Interesting facts about pot magnets
Special features and tips
- To protect the magnet and ensure maximum adhesive force, the magnet must not protrude from the pot. In practice, the magnet is slightly recessed in the pot, which may vary from magnet to magnet; but the adhesive force indicated in the online shop is guaranteed.
- The indicated adhesive force is always measured perpendicular to the magnetic base. The cup magnet is significantly weaker on a wall as opposed to a ceiling due to the displacement force. The adhesive force of a rubberised magnet system is much higher in the shear direction because it increases with friction. However, the tensile load-bearing capacity is slightly lower.
- Depending on the application, there are various mounting options: Neodymium pot magnets with a drilled hole, thread (internal/external thread) or threaded stud (magnetic base) or glue-in cup magnets.
- Ideal counterparts for pot magnets are simple countersunk metal discs, which we also carry in our online shop. These can be mounted to non-magnetic surfaces such as wood, plastic or drywall with a countersunk screw.
- For the protection of delicate surfaces, we recommend rubberised products. Alternatively, you can also purchase separate rubber caps in different variations from us.
- You can find various hooks and eyelets in our online shop which you can screw into a magnetic base or use as a replacement part for eyelet magnets.
- Neodymium cup magnets are only suitable for indoor use. For outdoors we recommend rust-proof ferrite pot magnets.
- All products have the same pole on the adhering surface, which is why they cannot be stacked on top of each other; but instead align themselves next to each other.
